I have been a midwife for 14 years and have always been passionate about providing women centred, midwifery care believing that pregnancy and birth is a truly normal life changing event that brings with it many delights and dilemmas and that the midwife is instrumental in enabling the woman and her family to derive as much joy and to acheive a safe outcome to the pregnancy as is humanly possible.
I also have 3 grown up children of my own. I work full time in a busy maternity unit and I study part-time for a MSc in Health Studies which I hope will further my work as a midwife.
I love sport as much as my profession and hope one day to be able to combine the two to enable women to exercise safely during their pregnancy and after the birth.
